Harris Teeter Triples Brag

So last week was triples at Harris Teeter and it took everything in me to make it to the store and actually have my stuff together. I'd gotten so far behind on clipping and organizing my coupons that it just didn't seem worth it. However, we seriously needed groceries and as always the budget was tight. So I hunkered down and in got everything together. Granted I didn't put as much planning effort into matching the sales with coupons. Just getting all of the coupons organized what a small victory and was good enough for me.

So here's how I did:

Tic Tac Chill
Nature's Valley Granola
Newman's Own Vodka Sauce
2 DelMonte Diced Tomatoes
2 DelMonte Sweet Peas
1 DelMonte Peaches
Nestle Morsels
2 Mueller Thin Spaghetti
8pk Bounty Paper Towels
Ortega Taco Kit
Ortega Salsa
Twix Candy Bar
2 Carnation Evaporated Milk
3 Swanson Canned Broth
Polaner Jam
Starkist Tuna
Bumble Bee Tuna
Clearance bag of 4 mini pinapples $1
Bananas
Red grapes
Avocado
Cucumber
Green Bell Pepper
Green Beans
3 Sweet Potatoes
Bag of Yellow Onions
2 Nature's Own Bread
Uncrustables
Frozen Dole Strawberries
2 Simply Orange Juice
HT Organic Milk
Kraft Colby Jack Cheese
Tollhouse cookies

Total Before Coupons: $118.34
OOP: $55.50

Not bad if I do say so myself!

HT Triples - Final Trip

So I made two more trips to Harris Teeter for triples but somehow I lost one of my receipts so I'll just recap my last trip.

I realized yesterday morning that we were almost out of dishwasher detergent so I rationalized my trip and while I was there I picked up a few things. Specifically using coupons from this Sunday's paper.

Mt. Olive Pickles
Tic Tac Chill
2 Mentos Gums
2 Mahatma Rice
7th Generation Dish Detergent
Bread
Luigi Italian Ice
McCain Sweet Potato Fries

Total: $27.04
OOP: $9.94

I spent a little more than our allotted grocery budget for this week but I justified it by recharging my stockpile.

Triples Coming Soon to a Harris Teeter Near You.

Rumor is that Harris Teeter will again be tripling coupons this coming week (9/16). Which means they will triple the value of any manufactures coupon up to $.99 face value. (i.e. $.50 off coupon will take off $1.50) So get your coupons ready!

Also, I've heard there may be as many as FIVE inserts in this coming Sunday's paper.

HT Triples - Trip 1

I had to put a few things back because I had more than 20 coupons. This is the first time that has ever happened. So maybe tomorrow we will make another trip.
In addition to my good deals I'm pretty sure the manager gave me money back for something I never paid for to begin with. It's a long an complicated story and I didn't actually figure out what happened until I got home.

Here's what I got:

Corn Meal Mix
2 Muffin Mixes
Cookie Mix
Newmans Own Pasta Sauce
Huggies Natural Diapers
Wishbone Salad Dressing
Grande Tortilla Chips
Satin Care Shaving Gel
Gum Tooth Bruch
Earth Spinach
2 Avocados
Organic Bananas
Zucchini
Earth Grain Bread
2 Klondike Bars
B & J Ice Cream
2 Red Baron Pizzas
Florida OJ
Heluva Good Cheese
Curad My Little Pony Bandaids!
Kix
Dinner Rolls

OOP: $33.35
Saved: $46.19
Received: $5 back from crazy manager!

Let me explain... I had to IP coupons for the Kix and Dinner rolls that the cashier couldn't get to scan. HT has a policy that if the IP won't scan they won't take it. So she removed them from my order. Then the manager had me come over to the Service Desk where she tried the coupons again and got them to work. So she gave me the difference of the coupons tripled. I didn't really understand what happened since I had Jude with me and he was all over the place and the lady talking wasn't making any sense. Oh Well.

Triple Coupon Virgin

So this week I had my first go at triple coupons at Harris Teeter. I didn't do so bad but I'm sure I could have done better. Joe and I made a date out of it and after our lovely dinner at 518 West we spent an hour in the Cameron Village Teeter. We bought alot of regular items we needed in addition to stocking up on discounted stuff.

Subtotal was $123.91
Vic Savings: $12.53
Coupon Savings: $36.83
Final Cost: $74.52

Then today on my lunch break I went to the HT on Blue Ridge to get a few additional items (one of which was out of stock).

Subtotal was $15.41
Vic Savings: $2.28
Coupon Savings: $6.93
Final Cost: $6.20

Coupons are FUN!
