Joe and I have been looking for a small kitchen table recently and thought craigslist would be a good place to start our search. Occasionally you may find good deals on reasonably priced items. We did find a few afforable and attractive tables that were either too big for our space or already sold. However, recently it seems everything I find is overpriced crap. I mean seriously, I'm not going to pay $400 for a basic dinette set I can buy new for the same price or a little more. I guess people are hoping to recoupe the money they initially invested into whatever they are selling. However, the point of buying used stuff is that it will be priced well below retail value because it's been used.
Here are few examples:
$400
$700
$850
So needless to say we're still searching for a table... if you know of anyone getting rid of a small (pretty small) kitchen table with at least 2 chairs let us know.

Please tell me that $850 is not for that chair? Actually I would hope it wasn't for anything you posted but especially that chair. Gross!!!
We had the same problem with finding a coffee table. 2 suggestions:
1) Thrift stores, specifically Tryon Hills, cause for paws, and Salvation army, all out South Saunders toward Garner. They all have furniture for decent prices, and sometimes some pretty cool stuff. Also, it is worth checking Father and Son; even though alot of their stuff is expensive, there are also a surprising number of deals. That's where we ended up getting out coffee table.
