Saving $ on your Grocery Bill #6

Triple Coupons

Every so often, Harris Teeter or Lowes Foods will offer a three-day event in which they triple the value of coupons up to 99 cents, instead of doubling. Every 50-cent coupon becomes a $1.50 and every 75-cent coupon is $2.25. As you can imagine, there are many items that you can get either entirely for free or at a very steep discount during triple coupons. Here's a little more on triples:

  • There is no set schedule for triples. The best way to find out is to watch Sue's blog, or to watch the weekly sales fliers.
  • There are rules and limits special to triples that vary by store. As always, you should know the rules before you shop.
  • The best way to maximize your savings during triples is to obtain multiple copies of coupons for items you like. You should try ot do this for free, or you can use a clipping service. (www.thecouponclippers.com)
  • While triples are a great way to save and build your overstock please, please, please do not abuse the system. take what you need and leave the rest for others. With a growing number of people looking to triple coupons as a way to stretch their household budgets, I hat nothing more than to see someone get greedy and ruin it for everyone. Enough said.
